Bedroom feature wall, Thetford
Thetford, IP24 1.5 days Textured feature paper, paste-the-wall

The brief
A new-build master bedroom that felt flat. The clients wanted a feature wall that looked deliberate rather than dropped in.
How it was done
- Filled and sanded the builder-grade plasterboard joints, which almost always telegraph through paper.
- Sized the wall so the paper could be slid into position without stretching.
- Hung four drops from a centre line so the bed sits dead in the middle of the pattern.
- Matched the remaining three walls to the paper's ground colour in a chalky matt.
The finish
The room now has a clear focal point and the paint pulls it together, so it looks designed rather than decorated in stages.
